By establishing a marketing agreement with a third party
marketing firm, it is critical that both the trading advisor/fund
manager and the marketing firm have a firm grasp of the factors
that will ultimately influence the success of the capital
raising campaign. Pinnacle approaches the client relationship
as a partnership. Consequently, from the outset, the marketing
plan is designed to delineate the responsibilities
undertaken by both partners.
Philosophically, we believe that it is important that the
expectations for both parties be reasonable and goal oriented.
As such, we are prepared to work with our partners in agreeing
to specific funding targets (and timelines). In managing the
sales effort we, in effect, also assume the outsourcing
role on your behalf and our shared effort serves the marketing
campaign well in this regard.
Typical TERMS OF REPRESENTATION by Pinnacle
are as follows:
- We preferred to work on an exclusive basis with our advisors
and managers (based on targeted distribution channels and
trading approaches). Exceptions are considered on a case
by case basis.
- We focus on partnering with non-competing strategies,
though we will represent advisors with similar trading approaches
at 3 classification levels: startup (less than $5million),
emerging ($5 million to $50 million) and established ($50
million plus).
- We are compensated only for results. If the advisor/manager
desires a tighter timelines (less than 12 months) with which
to meet agreed upon funding targets, then a retainer may
be required.
- Our fee is 20% of management and incentive fees on invested
capital. The duration of these terms will vary depending
upon the experience, track record and assets under management
for each advisor/manager represented.
- Reimbursement of any direct travel related expenses on
behalf of clients is required.
